Extra Crunchy Productions is headed by John Clive Carter, a multi-award winning screenwriter based in London, UK.

Following a successful advertising career I now write and produce full time. I’ve written feature screenplays, a TV pilot, and shorts. All work I’ve entered for competitions has won awards, and all feature scripts have won IMDB-qualifying events.

I’m also a part-time chef at an inner-city soup kitchen and an active member of the charity’s board of trustees.

I follow genre conventions while gently subverting their power structures to express different and unique points of view. A historical drama that’s actually a feminist biopic. A contemporary military action movie where barely a shot is fired. A social issue film that’s not depressing and preachy, but instead promotes the power of redemption and togetherness. A heist caper that’s more than escapist, it’s about positive masculinity and learning the true meaning of self-respect.
